This month, The Village Family Services will be a part of the many voices around the nation raising awareness about two issues that are at the core of what we do – Foster Care and Mental Health. Three years ago, The Village Family Services recognized that some of the most vulnerable youth in our community were in need of a safe place to call their own. It was from that, the Drop-In Center for transition age youth (TAY) was born. Due to generous start-up funding from former Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, along with additional support from the W.M. Keck Foundation, Green Foundation and Kaiser Permanente, the one-of-a-kind center in the San Fernando Valley opened its doors in May of 2013. Read more.
