A dedicated donor and volunteer, Tammy brings a strong commitment to our mission along with valuable experience and perspective. We are pleased to welcome her and to share more about her journey and connection to The Village in her own words. Welcome, Tammy!

1. What drew you to The Village Family Services, and what ultimately motivated you to join the Board of Directors?

Fostering hope. Transforming lives. Securing futures. That mission is what first drew me to The Village Family Services—and what ultimately motivated me to join the Board.

Each interaction I had with The Village and its staff deepened my respect for the breadth and impact of their work supporting vulnerable children and youth across Los Angeles. From foster placement and transitional housing for young adults to the drop-in center that provides teens with meals, clothing, toiletries, career counseling, and job placement support, The Village meets young people where they are and helps them move forward with dignity. Being part of an organization that delivers both immediate support and long-term opportunity is something I am incredibly proud of

2. Are there particular skills or areas of expertise you are most excited to contribute to The Village?

I bring a background in business, coaching, finance, and career placement, and I am excited to leverage these skills to help strengthen the Board’s strategic impact. I am particularly passionate about supporting initiatives that expand access to education, workforce readiness, and long-term economic stability for the youth The Village serves.

In addition, I am eager to help build broader awareness of The Village Family Services as a powerful and unique resource in our community—ensuring more individuals, partners, and supporters understand the critical role it plays in changing lives.

3. The Village serves children, youth, and families facing complex challenges. What aspects of our mission resonate most strongly with you?

Early in my career, I focused on expanding postsecondary educational opportunities for young adults, and I witnessed firsthand how access to education can fundamentally transform lives. That experience shaped my belief that opportunity changes everything—but only when a strong foundation exists.

What resonates most deeply with me about The Village’s mission is its commitment to meeting youth at their most basic and critical needs—safety, stability, and support—so they can begin to imagine and build a future for themselves. By providing that foundation, The Village is not only changing individual lives, but strengthening families and communities every day. It is deeply meaningful work, and I am honored to support it.
